Terry Boddie

This is something quite remarkable about a gelatin silver image. It is a recording of the confluence between light and time. It is also a result of how the photographer responds to that moment in time. This is where I began as a photographer, paying attention to the play of light on surfaces; but also this interaction of light and shadow to create meaning that extends beyond description to embrace metaphor and symbolism. I have explored alternative processes, digital imaging, printmaking, 3D installation; often combining them all. The printed gelatin silver image, however, is special. The images in this portfolio are the foundation of my creative practice from which all my exploration of visual language and medium stems.
