Island In The Sun

This selection of images from the series, An Island in the Sun, is a visual exploration of the geography and the individuals who comprise the social fabric of the island of Nevis in the Eastern Caribbean.  Nevis is on half of the twin island nation of St. Kitts and Nevis. The island is a place of utter physical beauty. This beauty masks at times a brutal history formed by chattel slavery, European colonization and the post-colonial challenged of nation states in a global world.  Despite this, the island nation of St. Kitts and Nevis remains resilient 33 years after independence.
